As your realtors, we want to help you find the right buyer for your home as quickly as possible. For this reason, we want to give you some tips for showing your home to potential buyers.

Open Up the Windows

Over the years working as realtors, we’ve shown buyers homes in all locations. In many cases, we’ve gone into homes where things seemed dark and dim, making the buyer reconsider the home as an option. When you get your home ready to show, try to let in as much natural light as possible. This means that you should open up your blinds, shutters, and drapes, and in darker areas of your home, you should consider turning on a lamp.

Remove Clutter

Too much clutter can make your home seem smaller than it actually is. Once you decide to sell your home, pack up as many of your personal belongings as you can. You should also make sure that your countertops are clear, your closets are organized, and belongings aren’t littering the floors when people come to look at your home.

Add Finishing Touches

Nothing is more welcoming than the smell of fresh baked cookies. Consider popping a batch of cookies in your oven before people come to look at your home, or light a candle to make things smell great. Additionally, make sure that it isn’t too hot or too cold in your home before showings.
