Today, Wasaga Beach is a lot more than a summer retreat. It’s one of the most stunning “Four Seasons” areas in the Georgian Triangle, where there’s something happening throughout the year. In the winter months, there is a host of snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails to explore. When you buy a house here, you’re just 30 minutes away from breathtaking ski resorts on Blue Mountain.
Summertime means fun in the sun, sand and water, while fall and spring attract a multitude of hikers and people who love exploring the great outdoors. One of the reasons why Wasaga Beach is such a tourist Mecca is that it has the world’s longest freshwater shoreline.
Recently, the town conducted a study, which predicted a healthy growth rate for the next 10 years. To keep pace with this, many housing developments are on the cards. Another factor contributing to the strong growth is an influx of baby boomers who have regularly visited the area for many years as tourists but have now decided to buy a house and retire here.
The average mortgage repayment in the area is about 30 percent less than other regions of Ontario. For some years now, the property market has remained stable, and because Wasaga Beach has “4 Seasons” designation, if there is a downturn, it will have little impact.
