How often can I use my resort home?
As part of the Rental Program personal use may not exceed 15 nights per month, for a maximum total of 180 nights per calendar year. The calendar year begins November 1, to April 30; and May 1 to October 31 for each rental period. For the first calendar year the start date is subject to occupancy dates.

Once I have submitted my owner usage calendar who do I contact to make changes?
Should you wish to make any changes to your calendar, please contact the information and Reservation Center at 705-445-0231. Simply identify yourself as an owner by name and unit number. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the calendar, please contact Laurie Trudell of Rental Owner Services at 705-445-0231 ext. 6484.

Where do I Check-In and Out?
Instead of lining up to check into your resort home you may simply pick-up your key (Ving Card) at the front desks of the Blue Mountain Inn or the Grand Georgian. VingCards are the electronic cards that provide access to your suite. Owner VingCards will be placed in the box alphabetically under the last name that the unit is registered. This is very important to remember when you are making your unit available to friends and family. If you have provided a last name of a friend or family friend it will be entered into the notes section of the reservation. However, the reservation itself will remain under the Owner’s last name. If your envelope is not in the box than your suite is not ready for occupancy. Blue Mountain Resorts makes every effort to ensure Owner suites are ready for the 4:00 p.m. check-in but reminds owners that if you arrive prior to 4:00 p.m. Blue Mountain resorts can not guarantee access to your unit. Please be assured that this system is safe and in no way compromises your security as an Owner.

Checking Out…
When you are ready to depart simply leave your keys on the kitchen counter of your unit. You are not required to check out, unless you wish to pay for any owner charges up front. This can be done at the Blue Mountain Inn Front Desk. Any owner charges not covered during your stay will be shown on your monthly rental statement.

When occupying my unit what housekeeping services are offered?
Owners will not receive daily cleaning, however towel and trash service is performed daily. A full daily cleaning is available on request and departure cleaning is mandatory after an owner stay. As part of the Rental Management Agreement you will find the prices for both Daily Cleaning and Departure Cleaning for Owners. We kindly ask that you contact the Rental Owner Services office to make the necessary arrangements.

When staying in my unit how can I be reached?
Each unit participating in the Rental Program will be outfitted with a resort telephone. You will not receive a monthly bill from Bell Canada, instead you will be charged $35.00 + GST per month by the resort for the use of the resort telephone system. There is no charge for the telephone or installation of the system. As is the case with all hotels there is a surcharge for long distance calls. When a guest is occupying your unit long distance charges will be posted to the guest’s account. Subsequently when you are using your unit long distance charges will be posted to your account and deducted from your monthly revenue statement. If you wish to avoid the long distance surcharge we recommend that owners use a cell phone when occupying their unit.

If someone from off the resort wishes to contact you while staying in your unit they would simply contact our call centre at 705-445-0231 and ask to be connected to your unit. They can either ask for you by name or by unit number. If someone on the resort property wishes to contact your suite, using any resort telephone they may simply press ‘0’ and ask the resort operator to connect them or dial you directly by using your resort telephone number. Your resort telephone number is the building code number followed by your unit number. The building codes area as follows: Chateau Ridge – 11, Cachet Crossing – 12, Wintergreen – 13, Mountain Walk – 14.

Can I add accessories to my unit?
Your unit has been designed with both you the owner and the rental guest in mind. It is understandable that owners may wish to add personal touches to their unit. We strongly recommend that owners do not leave behind items that are not securely attached to the wall or furniture. If a personal item is damaged or stolen by a rental guest the Resort will not be held responsible for the loss and it will be up to the owner to make a claim through their own insurance.

Can I bring my pets to the Resort?
As per the Rental Agreement, pets are not welcome on Resort premises.

Are there any mandatory purchases in order to be part of the Rental Program?
Each unit in the Blue Mountain Resort Rental Program is required to be equipped by Blue Mountain with a Ving Lock (electronic key system), and the standard Kitchen and Linen packages. Once purchased, the Kitchen and Linen inventories ( as per Schedule ‘A’ of the Rental agreement) are the responsibility of Blue Mountain Resort.

Can I have a BBQ on my patio or balcony?
Blue Mountain Resorts asks that Rental Owners refrain from placing a BBQ on either the patio or balcony of their suite. Blue Mountain Resort will provide a BBQ to each first floor unit, and guests and owners will be required to rent propane tanks and grills for the BBQ’s use.

What about outdoor patio furniture?
Rental Owner Services will be purchasing Patio Chairs for the balconies and patios of the rental suites as needed. The number of chairs per suite will depend on the size of the unit and the size of the patio area. The charge for the purchase of the chairs will be the responsibility of the owner, and will be deducted from your monthly statement.

In an effort to create a uniform look for the Resort homes Blue Mountain resorts asks that Owners refrain from purchasing patio furniture or outdoor accessories on their own. Outdoor items that have not been approved by the Rental Manager will be removed.

How will I receive the Rental Income for my Unit(s)?
Income is distributed on a monthly basis. On the 15th of every month a cheque and statement will be issued to the owner and then mailed shortly thereafter. The amount issued will reflect the previous month’s Rental activity of their Unit. Blue Mountain resorts is working with the local branch of the TD Bank to offer you direct deposit and hope to be able to offer this service later this year.

Do I receive any special resort discounts and what recreational activities do I have access to as a rental property owner?
At this time no discounts are being offered at the resort and recreational activities are limited to what is provided at the Resort.
