Spreading Warmth, Sharing Joy – Home Horizon Community Empowerment Event

The Hawkins Real Estate Group will be holding a
Home Horizon Community Empowerment Open House
at our newly opened Royal LePage Locations North Office.

When:

January 25th between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm

Where:

112 Hurontario Street in Collingwood

In early January as I drive, slipping & sliding in the snow all around the area, Thornbury, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, it is obvious winter is here. In communities whose economies benefit by catering to thriving winter sport activities, we certainly hope this weather continues. These same communities have residents that need help. There are a growing number of distressed families and children who are enduring the hardship of not being able to sleep in a warm home, have a hot meal or transportation. The number of displaced and homeless young adults who are in crisis are increasing in our communities. While there are many reasons for youth to be at risk, there are ways of assisting, by showing them their personal safety is a priority and to help them find a way to build a future with our community support.

On January 25th, the Hawkins Real Estate Group, will be holding a Home Horizon Community Empowerment Open House at our newly opened Royal LePage Locations North office at 112 Hurontario Street in Collingwood in support of Home Horizon’s Outreach Services and the Barabra Weider House. Home Horizon is a local charitable organization that provides safe housing, support, counselling and outreach for homeless youth.

Please join us between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to see our exciting new offices, have some refreshments and learn more about the work Home Horizon is doing in our community in support of helping youth experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives. Much more help is needed and we are committing this year to invest in the youth of the communities we live in.

If you are able to join us, we would ask that you support us with cash donations that can be used by Home Horizon to fund transportation for at-risk youth for school, employment and appointments. There is always a need for grocery store gift cards for Barbara Weider House to purchase food for the 10 full-time residents, or current needs for their Outreach Program include: protein bars, individually wrapped meat snacks, small first aid kits and packages of nuts. Presently, there is not a need for warm clothing.

We will also be a sponsor for the Coldest Night of the Year, which takes place February 22, 2025. If you would like to join us and/or support our participation in the CNOY walk, your support would mean the world to us.

Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of youth in need. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you on January 25th.
